GEST is happy to announce the opening of our new venture.

Prior to Christmas 2010, GEST purchased Cool Beans Café at 26 George Street, Moe. The café was closed over Christmas and January to allow for a refurbishment of both the indoor and outdoor dining areas.

ZEST Café and Bar will be run as a commercial café from Tuesday through Sunday and be used as our Hospitality Training Centre every Monday.

GEST's hospitality students will have the opportunity to gain hands on experience and practical skills training while working and learning in an operating hospitality venue.  Students will also have the opportunity to undertake work placement when the café is open.

ZEST cafe & Bar will also offer employment and traineeship opportunities and we are delighted to have two graduates from our Semester two 2010 Hospitality group employed and undertaking full-time traineeship's.  This will provide additional qualifications to further their hospitality careers.

ZEST Café and Bar is also committed to using Gippsland produce and wines wherever possible and a new menu and wine list will include locally sourced ingredients and locally grown and made wines.

Once ZESTS's liquor licence is finalised, wines from Lightfoot and Sons of Bairndsale will be available by the glass or bottle with your meals.

This is what James Halliday had to say in the Australian Wine Companion, 2011 about Lightfoot and Sons wines:

"Excellent winery able to produce wines of high to very high quality, knocking on the door of a 5-star rating."  James Halliday. Australian Wine Companion 2011.
